Kerala
God's Own Country
विहंगावलोकन
Kerala, nestled along the tropical Malabar Coast of southwestern India, is a paradise of lush greenery, serene backwaters, and pristine beaches. Known as "God's Own Country," this narrow strip of land between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats offers an enchanting blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and traditional Ayurvedic wellness that has captivated travelers for centuries.
The state is famous for its intricate network of backwaters, with Alleppey and Kumarakom being the most popular destinations for houseboat cruises. The hill stations of Munnar, with its sprawling tea plantations, and Wayanad, with its wildlife sanctuaries, offer cool escapes from the coastal heat. The beaches of Kovalam, Varkala, and Marari provide perfect spots for relaxation and water sports.
Kerala's cultural heritage is equally impressive, with classical dance forms like Kathakali, traditional martial arts like Kalaripayattu, festivals like Onam, and cuisine that is distinctively flavorful with coconut, seafood, and spices. The state's high literacy rate and progressive social indicators make it one of India's most developed states, ensuring a comfortable and enriching travel experience for every visitor.

By Air
Kerala has three international airports: Cochin International Airport (COK) in Kochi, Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) in Thiruvananthapuram, and Calicut International Airport (CCJ) in Kozhikode. Cochin Airport is the busiest and best connected, with flights from all major Indian cities and international destinations across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
By Rail
Kerala has an extensive railway network connecting all major towns and cities. Important railway stations include Ernakulam Junction (ERS), Thiruvananthapuram Central (TVC), Kozhikode (CLT), and Alleppey (ALLP). Several premium trains like the Kerala Express, Trivandrum Rajdhani, and Garib Rath connect Kerala to Delhi and other parts of India.
By Road
National Highway 66 (NH66) runs along the entire length of Kerala, providing excellent road connectivity. State-run KSRTC buses and private luxury buses operate frequent services between all towns and cities. The road network is well-maintained, and distances are manageable due to the state's narrow width (average 60 km from east to west).
